Sobriety Checkpoints Announced for Saint Louis and Surrounding Areas in December

Updated Dec. 16th, 2013, 3:29pm: Many police agencies in Greater Saint Louis and surrounding areas have announced sobriety checkpoints and increased DWI saturation patrols for December, 2013.

The following sobriety checkpoints and DWI patrols have been announced so far:

  • Butler County (Poplar Bluff) – Sobriety Checkpoint in December AND DWI Saturation
  • Franklin County – Increased police patrols. DWI Saturation patrols on December 20, 2013 & December 21, 2013
  • Greene County (Springfield) Sobriety Checkpoint & DWI Saturations in December.
  • Hazelwood – DWI Checkpoints and Saturation Patrols December 6th and 7th. Increased DWI patrols and sobriety checkpoints for the rest of December expected.
  • Howell County –  DWI Saturation patrols in December.
  • Jefferson County – DWI Sobriety Checkpoint and saturation patrols throughout December.  Multiple DWI Checkpoints planned for Friday, December 13, 2013 – expected to be off exits on I-55 in Jefferson County.
  • Saint Charles County – Increased police patrols.  DWI saturation patrols on December 20, 2013 & December 21, 2013
  • Saint Louis County – DWI checkpoints throughout December by St. Louis County Police.
  • South St. Louis County – DWI Saturation Patrols in December by Missouri State Highway Patrol.
  • St. Joseph –Checkpoints in December, and DWI Saturation in December.
  • St. Louis County – County police will have additional patrols throughout the holidays emphasizing DWI enforcement.
  • Warren County – DWI Saturation Patrols by Missouri State Highway Patrol throughout December.
  • Weldon Springs – DWI checkpoint and two DWI saturation Weldon Springs by Missouri State Highway Patrol.
  • Wentzville – Increased DWI patrols all month. DWI checkpoints likely.
  • Statewide – Missouri State Highway Patrol increased DWI patrols across Missouri.

In addition to sobriety checkpoints, expect police throughout the holidays to have increased enforcement patrols for traffic violations, seat belts, and DWI patrols. Remember to drive sober, don’t text and drive, and buckle up! Be safe this holiday season!
